Containers!!!

Today was containers day!!! Shrijana and I are the dream team for moving relief goods! Two tomboys just going at it all day! Two different organizations coming in to get relief goods from us with their own trucks. Everything always looks super good on paper, but when reality hits, all the curveballs start to come from left and right. We just have to keep catching those curveballs and making the best out of them all.

Truck driving training grounds! Many of the local Nepalese workers take this class in order to be qualified for oversea jobs! There were so many people lining up for this training class!
We started out with the blankets! One box contains ten blankets each!

The Tibetan monks were helping us, too! It was quite an uncomfortable situation for me, but that is truly what Buddhism in action is all about. They really embody this concept, because they are not just sitting in the temples and chanting sutra, but they are physically working out in the environment, as well. I still have much to learn on this path of cultivation.

20 boxes = 200 blankets for the Tibetan monks! Success #1!
Now, onto multi-purpose beds! One box contains 7 beds!

The second organization had misunderstood the actual measurements of the multi-purpose beds, so at the last minute, we had to call three other small trucks to come get the rest of the relief goods for them. It was a little bit chaotic, but caught those curveballs just right! Everything turned out super great in the end!
143 multi-purpose beds, 143 heavy carpet blankets, and 55 hygiene buckets. Success #2!

After getting all the relief goods to the right people, we cleaned up the whole Seabird storage area! Doesn't it look super nice now??? So proud of ourselves! HIGH FIVE!

SUPER LONG DAY, BUT SUPER FULFILLED! I am so happy that the relief goods are going to be delivered to those who are in the remote areas; whom are still suffering everyday from the aftermath of the earthquake and on top of that the monsoon season rainfall. Land slides are constantly happening in those mountainous areas! We cannot physically get to them, but other organizations can help us bring our relief goods to them! Great team work makes for successful relief missions!
