MSF Epidemiology Meeting

We had a meeting with MSF (Doctors Without Borders - France) today! I was very excited to get to finally meet Isabelle, who is an Epidemiologist for MSF-France. We were meeting with her and Adi (MSF Medical Coordinator) to see where in the medical data collection we can improve for the Chuchepati camp.

According to the World Heath Organization (WHO), Epidemiology is "the study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states or events (including disease), and the application of this study to the control of diseases and other health problems."

In other words, Epidemiology is the study of how often diseases occur in different groups of people and why. That data collected is a good way to both plan and evaluate strategies to prevent a variety of illnesses and use it as a guide to manage different affected populations, such as IDP camp residents.

I am super grateful that MSF - France's Isabelle can be part of our partnering team now!
